IE Hardening Pack für Windows Server 2003

IE Softening Info

Internet Explorer high security settings are not enabled

You can install Internet Explorer Hardening Pack to configure Internet Explorer high security settings, such as the following:

  • The High security template is applied to the Internet and intranet security zones. The template contains settings that provide the highest level of security. This prevents Web sites from performing potentially damaging operations. As a result, scripting, Active X controls, the Java Virtual Machine, and file downloads are all disabled.
  • The Medium security template is applied to the Trusted Sites zone. This allows sites in this zone to have normal browsing functionality. The Windows Update Web site is added to the Trusted Sites zone by default.

The increased level of security that you get from installing Internet Explorer Hardening Pack might prevent browser-based client applications from working in the Internet and intranet zones. Server-based applications will continue to work as they did before you installed the pack however.

After installing the pack, you might want to access Web sites that require the functionality that has been disabled. To access those Web sites, you can add them to the Trusted Sites zone. For more information about adding Web sites to the Trusted Zone, see „To add a Web site to a security zone“ in Internet Explorer Help, or see the new home page that replaces this one when you install Internet Explorer Hardening Pack.

To install Internet Explorer Hardening Pack

  1. Open Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs, and then click Add/Remove Windows Components.
  2. Select Internet Explorer Hardening Pack, and do one of the following:
    • To install Internet Explorer Hardening Pack and apply the security enhancements to both Administrators and Users, click Next.
    • Or, to install Internet Explorer Hardening Pack and apply the security enhancements to either Administrator or Users, but not both, click Details, select either Administrators or Users, and then click Next.

Note

  • After you install Internet Explorer Hardening Pack, this page will be replaced with one that contains information corresponding to the server state with the pack installed.
