CeBIT: JVC receiver targets high definition

The RX-D701 high-end receiver should be available from July for €999

A. Schmoll-Trautmann, ZDNet Germany, 16.03.2005

JVC's new 7-channel A/V receiver, the RX-D701 has an eye on high-definition pictures.

JVC is securing a future for its new receiver by including a simple cable connection for HDMI-compatible devices like flatscreen monitors, for example, which transmit video and audio signals. Pitched as a new A/V standard, the PC-compatible HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the only interface through which uncompressed, high-definition video and multichannel audio in HD formats – including 720p and 1080i – can be transmitted. In addition, users also have the possibility to include remote control signals, says JVC.

The price for the RX-D701 high-end receiver should be €999 and it will be available from July.
